About.
After more than a decade of bringing stories to life as a stagehand, Rachel has transitioned from behind the scenes to behind the mic. She now uses her rich life experience to connect with listeners and bring authenticity to every project.
As a former mediator and humanitarian aid worker, Rachel brings a deep understanding of the human experience to her voice work. This unique background gives her a knack for finding the heart of the matter, uncovering the nuances within conflict and the beauty in people, whether in real life or on the page. When she's not in the studio, she enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, and watercolor.
Based in Oregon, Rachel works from her home studio, treating each manuscript with care and professionalism. She has honed her craft with coaching from Piper Goodeve and Heather Firth, and has attended key industry events including APAC 2021 and Audiobook Academy VO Atlanta 2021.
Her studio is equipped with professional gear: a Rode NT1-A microphone, Scarlet Focusrite interface, Studio One and Izotope RX.

"You know when you hear some music and you get the chills? Or you see a painting and you forget words for a second and fall into the scenery? I heard Rocky’s [Rachel's] voice and I got the chills. I heard her tell me the story and I fell back into a tale that I have read hundreds of times... sometimes in people’s voices, you can hear more than just a voice – their sound creates a room that’s filled with imagery and new things. Her voice did that, bringing new life to the story – essentially bringing it to life."

"A beautifully narrated audiobook that brought the protagonists to life perfectly, this book has done a marvelous job of drawing readers into the narrative....lovely narration that captures the magic and heart of the book."
"She checked in, asked great questions, and brought so much enthusiasm and passion to the project. I couldn't be happier with her interpretation of Wire Wings!"
-Wren Handman, Author, Wire Wings
"Rocky [Rachel] Taylor exceeded expectations I didn't know I had. The audio was crisp and speech was natural. Character voices were distinct and she's a pro at voicing male characters, too. She captured the humor and emotion without forced melodrama. Optimistic. Driven. Facilitator. 5 out of 5."
-Dustin Porta, Author, Cast in Sand
